Walk to the Aldstadt and admire the sparkling Golden Roof (Goldenes Dachl) before visiting the Hofkirche then Dom zu St. Jakob. Look out for the information boards dotted around the Old Town, which provide useful snippets of history.
2 Take bus J or tram 6 to Igls then either hike (it’ll take a few hours) or cable car up to Patscherkofel where a number of easy trails await (our favourite is the Zirbenweg Trail). There is a good value restaurant at Patscherkofel – no need to carry up your own food.
